Lux will be discretely nestled into a hillside 80 feet above the San Elijo Lagoon. An encircling nature preserve of rugged hills and wildlife will allow both artist and visitors to have extraordinary encounters with Southern California’s unique environment. The facility’s two longitudinal buildings will face each other, with a series of gardens climbing between. Indoor paths will wander through vaulted gallery spaces, administrative offices, public lecture areas, a library, and a small museum store. |

Renowned architect Renzo Zecchetto (Design Director for the Church of the Nativity in Fairbanks Ranch and the Alusa Printing Company in Santiago, Chile) has designed a 15,000 square-foot facility for the Lux Art Institute. The tranquil architecture invites a connection between the land, the working artist, and the viewer. |
