Field Box turns students into scientists and sends them on an exploratory journey into nature. Students see, handle and discuss Moritsuguís miniature log slice landscape paintings and then take part in the scientific process as they count tree rings, take measurements and make calculations from their own log slices, using the same processes of observation and interpretation as a scientist- or an artist does. The teacher will introduce students to elements of landscape painting and touch on issues of environment, ecology and conservation.
